Big C Club

The Big C Club was launched in September 2018 and continues to receive rave reviews.

Through the club, the Division develops partnerships with institutions by making monthly visits to primary schools and engaging the students in consumer awareness activities. The half-hour sessions which target grade five students are informative and interactive.

Over the school year, students learn that our needs and wants are unlimited but the resources available to satisfy these wants are limited. They will also explore how the community defines, classifies, and uses resources, learn about the processes of consumption, production and distribution in meeting needs and wants, and the role of consumers, workers, and producers in the economy.

The club will also highlight factors affecting consumer spending and why it is important to be an informed consumer when making spending decisions. Students will consider the impact of impulsive behaviour on themselves and others and learn how to implement strategies for managing their own impulsive behaviour. They will also acquire a basic understanding of personal money management and the role of banking, budgeting, and saving.

We would be happy to partner with your school. The Big C Club offers tremendous benefits for our young ones, and we do not want your students to be left out.
